A mezuzah for front door entrances should be seen from the street, not searched for. Every design here is made in three large sizes: 20 cm (7.8″), 25 cm (9.8″) and the extra large 30 cm (11.8″). The size refers to the scroll chamber; the stone case is about 4 cm longer. Pick the design, then choose the size on the product page. Solid Jerusalem stone gives a large mezuzah real presence on an entrance without looking heavy, and each piece is hand-finished so no two are the same. The case mounts with the sealed adhesive we supply and is suited to exterior doors. A scroll (klaf) can be added on the product page.

Choosing a mezuzah for your front door
A front door is seen from the path and the street, so the case should read clearly at a distance. Most customers choose 25 cm for a standard door and 30 cm for a wide or double entrance; 20 cm suits a narrow frame.
Sizes for a front doorframe
| Chamber | Inches | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| 20 cm | 7.8" | Narrow frames |
| 25 cm | 9.8" | Standard front doors |
| 30 cm | 11.8" | Wide and double doors |
Where and how to mount it
The mezuzah goes on the right side as you enter, at the start of the top third of the doorpost, tilted toward the inside in the Ashkenazi custom or upright in the Sephardi custom. For the background, see Chabad.org's mezuzah guide; our step-by-step guide covers the mounting itself.
Large Mezuzah for Front Door — Questions & Answers
Which size counts as large?
The 20 cm (7.8"), 25 cm (9.8") and 30 cm (11.8") chamber sizes. Every design on this page is made in all three; choose the size on the product page. Add roughly 4 cm to the case length for the mounting base, as noted on each product page.
How visible is a large mezuzah on a front door?
The 25 cm and 30 cm cases are clearly visible from the street on a standard front door; 20 cm is the quieter choice. The size you choose should match the scroll you own or plan to buy.
Does a large stone mezuzah need screws?
No. Each case ships with sealed, weather-resistant double-sided adhesive already applied. Clean and dry the doorpost, press firmly for a few seconds, and keep pressure on it for the first few hours.
What does a large size cost?
The grid shows the starting price of each design (the 12 cm size). The 20 cm, 25 cm and 30 cm sizes are priced on the product page — for example $165 for 25 cm and $190 for 30 cm on our Natural Design. Shipping to the USA is free at every size, with duties and taxes included.
Is a large mezuzah right for an apartment door?
Usually 20 cm. Measure the doorframe: the case should sit comfortably within its width.
Can I order a matching smaller size for interior doors?
Yes. Every design is also made in 12 and 15 cm.
